Home, for now.

Hey y'all, I am home for the weekend! :)
Since the NASCAR race is in Michigan this week, work had me come up with the guys, and then I got to go back home for a few days. I just have to be back to the track by the time the race starts on Sunday.

I have been to Indianapolis IN, then to Watkins Glen, NY with stops in Cincinnati to work on the smaller NRE's, and then to Michigan here. After I go back, we go straight Bristol, TN.

On the site here, I guess comments have been requiring my approval, and I haven't recieved anything from Blogger asking me for approval, so I turned it off. I might turn word verification back on though, to prevent spaming.

I have some pics from Indy, including some of cars, and some from Watkins Glen, with none from the track. But alot of scenic stuffs. Those will go up later, sometime.

But yeah, I just figured I'd look into the comments issue, and thought I'd throw up a post while I was here.

Current state of me

After having spent some time at this job now, I can say I think it will work out decently. Except the being away from home so much. We have since left Indy, yesterday morning actually, and on the way down to Charlotte, NC I was dropped off in Cincinati, OH. No, not just randomly :p I am here until tomorrow to familiarize with an original "NRE", or Nextel Racing Experience. The NRE's are our 2-car shows that travel all over, we have 4 of those total, plus the "big house", the 6 car ginormous set-up. Tomorrow, I get on an airplane to fly to Watkins Glen, NY for the race. Which is awesome, since the Glen is one of the 2 road course events on the NASCAR circuit, and my favorite track. Oh, and the race this year is called "AMD at the Glen", so maybe I will get to see (and snag?) some sweet AMD stuff. Oh, I should mention I'm not there just for the race, we have a newer NRE there for me to look over.
After that, we drive to Michigan International Speedway, where I get to get picked up by my wife so I can have that week off! YAY!
After that, it's Bristol time! And a potential week off after that, then it's the long road, likely 10-11 weeks out.
I have some pix from Indy, but they haven't been resized or uploaded yet, so they will prolly be up same time as the pix I hope to acquire at Watkins Glen International. Whcih will hopefully be more that the few I have from Indy.

Now it's time for food, then laundry, then in-room Jacuzzi.

I'll leave you with this: Did you know you could fit 17 people into a Dodge Sprinter van? Neither did I until I got to Indy.

Workin it

No, not in that way....
But...
I am finally employed again! Have been for a few days actually, just haven't updated till now. I am working for National Tour Inc, on thier Nextel/NASCAR tour. I am the simulator tech, so I am working with the same sims I had been for the past 7-ish years.
I am currently in Indianapolis at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and it's pretty cool. Well, figuratively anyhow. It's actually been roasting hot, except today which has been raining/storming on and off.
The only downside, and it's a considerably sized one, is that I will be on the road alot. I guess some trips are from 4-6 weeks, and atleast one at the end of the year (season) of about 10-ish weeks. Yikes! But atleast the compensation is decent so my family won't have to worry about food or bills much at all, which will be a nice change. I've only been gone for since Monday, but I already miss my wife considerably.

It also looks as if this will interfere with LAN party goings-to, but I suspect I will live. One day I will attend one again.

Aparently this was all I had to write. If there is more, I will come back down to the lobby and write more.

Take care anyone who might read this. Which isn't many, if any.
Aaanyhow, I m out for now.
