I do still exist
Well all, I'm posting and update! I don't get much internet time these days, but not too much has been up anyhow.
I was in Charlotte, NC unloading the stuff that came out of the old store. It was a nice 3 day mini vacation. It was like a vacation even though I was doing work because it was like 70 degrees the days I was there. Then on the day I left, there were storms, and my flight from Charlotte to Chicago was delayed 2 hours by bad weather on the Chicago end. Therefore I missed my connecting flight back to Grand Rapids. By 5 minutes.
So I spent the night in the O'Hare airport, that was fun.
This past week I kept looking for jobs, and Perfect Line, the company that owns the simulators, called and wants me to go to Chicago from Feb 1ist through the 20th. I would be running the sim display at the Chicago Auto Show in the Dodge area. I should recieve confirmation on that in a day or so. If they have me drive over there, and my hotel has some form of internet available, I will tote the compy along. But if they fly me to Chicago, I will not. We shall see. Either way, I hope there is time for me to explore the Auto Show and get some good pix.
I am still trying to figure out the weather we have been having. Is it: Late fall, an early, cool spring, or a warm winter that we are in. Given that we recently got deluged by 7 inches of snow, I say winter, but other that that, it's not so clear.
Clearly, I am out of things to say, so I go.
For now.
Have fun!

End of an era
Today I offically closed up the RGR (Rivertown Grand Rapids) site for good. There is now no more NASCAR Simulator racing to be had in Grandville, or all of Michigan for that matter. Except temporary displays like the one my friend Rich is setting up at the Detroit Auto Show.
The simulators are on thier way to Charlotte, or already there. Turned in the keys to the Checker Flag Lightning guys who moved out. On Wednesday morning I fly out to Charlotte for a couple days to unload the stuff out of the trucks into our warehouse. Maybe I will get to see Charlotte Motor Sspeedway since it's like 4 miles from the warehouse. After I get back on Friday I begin looking for a new job. Hopefully I find one ASAFP so I don't need to go on unemployment.
Aparently over the weekend I missed a really good GRLan in Lansing. Oh well, there is always RoC coming up in Feb.
Ok, I think that was all, so.... Have fun!

Checking in!
So, it's been a while since I have posted here. It had been really busy at work due to everyone being on break and alot of folks with gift cards. This past week I have been busy taking down the store. That's right, the NASCAR store I worked at has closed. The Checker Flag Lightning store moved back across the hall in the mall, and the simulators are going into storage in Charlotte, NC. So, after it's all moved, I'm out of a job. Yeah.
But, this week has been long days, and today and tomorrow will be long nights as well. We got done packing this morning, but the semi truck that was going to be here tonight got stuck in Detroit, will be here at about Midnight or 1 AM. So we are going back then to load up, and then again tomorrow night at supposedly 6PM to load the second truck. Currently I am at the hotel some of the out of town helpers are at so we can get some sleep before we go back. I am using Kerry's laptop on the hotel wireless to type this. Kerry n Jimmy are the techies from Minnesota down here to help.
Well, that's all for now. I will write more when I can.
Have fun y'all.
