Let's try this again...
After a blazing month of June where I managed to post a whopping 1 whole item, I am going to try to get this thing started again.
Speaking of starting...
For the past 2 days, I have been trying to change out the starter in my Jetta. In other cars I have had, it has been nowhere near this difficult to do. But aparently VW likes playing hide and seek with the starter, choosing to locate it on the right hand side of the engine, which in a front-wheel drive car is effectively the "back". Oh, did I mention it's stuffed up under the exhaust manifold, on top of the axle, and next to a motor mount. Yesterday (well, Friday, since this is now technically Sunday) I actually got the starter set to come out, took about an hour or 2, but I got it off the engine. However it is not "out" since I haven't figured out how to free it from it's own little prison.
If me having starter problems sounds familiar, it should. See here for that story. Yes, that was only 5 months ago. Granted, the starter isn't completely dead yet, but I would rather not wait since I know the cause. It's been doing the same thing that it was before, start fine for a while, then begin not anything if the car has run and is "hot". Wait for it to cool an hour or so, and then all is usually good. Until the next time.
In other news, last Thursday, the 6th, I participated in BMW's "Drive for a cure" where you register to test drive select BMW's at the certain dealer. For every mile you drive the car, BMW donates $1 to the Susan G Komen Foundation to help cure breast cancer. They set up a route you follow (no, you can't just go anywhere) which was 9.1 miles long. I got to drive 2 cars in the event.
First up, the 2006 BMW 330xi

Next, the 2006 BMW 550i

I really liked the 550, very nice car. But then, it costs around $70k, so it had better be nice.
That's all I have for now. Take care whoever still reads this stuff.
