Behind the times...

So I was at Best Buy yesterday, and I saw the Prima strategy guide for Half-Life 2. For $.01, aka a Penny. Normally I don't use strategy guides, but since I was stuck at the point in Chapter 13 where you have to get in one of those iron-maiden things and ride all over the place, I bought it. Hey, it was a penny. Upon returning home, I found out that I was like basically at the end of the game. I didn't figure you had to get in one of those things, I figured that would be bad. After it drops you off and the room ate all my weapons, I was like "Thas not good..." But the juiced up Gravity Gun rocks!
And the ending was quite hinting at a Half-Life 3. Considering thier record with HL2, that should come out in probably 2169. Unless it gets pushed back to 2700.

Also played Battlefield 2 last night. I have a utility that can change the number of bots in Singleplayer from 1-255. I also downloaded a "patch" to make the SP maps the 64 player size instead of the smaller 16 player size. So just for fun, I put 1 bot in the game with me. It can be fun searching all over the big map looking for just 1 person. But, in my opinion, I'm getting pretty good at flying the chopper now, as I do alot of searching from the air.

In other news, there is a LAN this Saturday, and I'm going! With my computer this time! I didn't bring it when I went to the last Boxheads LAN because I had to work that day, I dropped by the LAN after work to hang out.

I guess that's all I had to write today.
Have fun, bee good y'all.

New Years Eve...

Of sorts anyway.
Well, it's finally turning colder out, and I'm not complaining. Yes, I do like the warmer weather, but nothing to hot or humid. However, Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I like weather, I like the scenery change, the colors and all that.

Besides that, there really isn't much new to report on. I wish there was, but my life is most un-interesting.

That said, I did manage to get a crude, yet efective enough, hole cut in the front of my big case to mount a 120mm fan, and once I get another 120mm, I will attemp the same in the back. To go with the new fan mount, I drilled out the fake holes at the bottom of the plastic front of the case, and measured out thier spacing and continued them up the case for 6 or 7 inches for much increased airflow. Also hacksawed out a couple openings on the sides of that front bezel as well.

In my seemingly too-present free time these days, I have now been playing alot of GTR. GTR is a (in my opinion) a highly realistic, graphically impressive modern racing simulator. However, not being satisfied, I had to download add-ons to the game. I searched out more tracks and cars, most wanted was the BMW M3. The game comes with the Z3M, but that's not quite the same.
It's a challenging, addictive (to me), and frustrating. Granted, I am using the highest diffculty, but I find that I still turn laps sometimes at 5-10 seconds slower than other cars of the same class. Braking later going into, or going faster through, a corner just results in my car sliding off the track.

Anyhow, thus ends another worthless post. Hopefully sometime I can actually post something.

Update!

At long last, I have uploaded some new pictures. I have one of my computers setup at work as a download/upload station now, and finally burned all my pix to a DVD and brought them in. The new pix are from the GRLan, the Boxheads, and Realms of Chaos. And also some new ones of the big case I kept refering to.

That is all for now.

Suckerpunch!

Just because that is the song currently stuck in my head. Five Iron Frenzy is good stuff. I'm just glad I was able to catch thier Farewell tour before I totally missed out, much like I did with Stryper back in the early '90's. I really don't have anything to update here, nothing real exciting has gone on since last post.
Gamewise, I've been up to a good mix of Battlefield 2, NFS:U2, and FlatOut. Throw in a pinch of Half-Life 2 (still not finished, kinda lost) and GTLegends the demo and there you have it.
I looked into the cost of having a auto body shop give that big Inwin Q500 case of mine a quality paintjob, but everyone local doesn't think they could do that. It's metal, you sand it, then paint it! I will do it myself sometime, I was just trying to save myself hours of hand sanding the case down. I will probably paint it a nice high-gloss black, but have also considered Yellow, Orange (like my Mustang was), a flat Olive Drab, or even camoflage. I was also looking into getting a hole saw to cut a few openings to mount 120mm fans in places where there should be 80mm's. But the approprite bit is $36, so that won't happen anytime soon. I could see if my dad has the hole saw bit I need... hmmm. The painting can wait, but for some reason I really want to transfer my main system into this big, heavy case. But not until it can breathe properly through the 120mm's I wish to install. I test fit the 120 that I have, and it fits properly in the front but I need to open up some more ventilation for it. In the back, however, it will be mounted above the power supply facing out the back. Yes, there is that much room above the PSU. Barely. It fits pretty tightly between the PSU and the top of the case.
In case you wonder why I want to do all this to put in 120mm fans, it's because I want to :P . And because they can run slower yet still push more air than the 4 80's in my current case, and slower fan speed means less noise.

In other news: bring on the cooler October weather! Enough of the 80's already!

Oh, and Jocelyn, I got the 2 Friday w00t's on the same post 'cuz I didn't think this one up fast enough to not get 2 w00ts :p
