Compy's Everywhere!
So I now have 5 complete computers, 1 monitor, keyboard and mouse.Plus one Big Ass case that is empty for now. My friend Tony just dropped off 2 of his old computers, because I didn't want them to be thrown away. So here is my list. I also did a little research to find out just what my big empty case is, and I found a review of it here.
I had to RMA my video card back to BFG last week since it was acting up and totally wierding out in games. They said it would take 7-10 days turnaround time for it to get back to me. I shipped it UPS Ground last Wed. It got there the next day. I got it back that Friday. Thas 3 days. Granted, BFG is near Chicago, but still, I didn't expect such a quick return. Anyhow, I play-tested it under Battlefield 2 2 nights ago, and it was nice. No hangs, no freezes, no stupid glitches. Just smooth at 1024x768 4xAA 16xAF and high detail in game.
Other than that, not much new going on. Figured out it is the fuel pump in the gas tank thats faulty on my Jetta. I should be able to replace that myself, whenever I get some "extra" money.
Also, since acquiring all 6 Harry Potter books in .pdf format at the RoC LAN last month, I managed to read through all of them. 2-3 days per book. I liked the movies, so I thought I'd read the books as well. Should be some good movies of 4, 5, and 6.
That's about all.

Sure is Monday...
The weekend was good anyway. Friday after I got out of work, I stopped by the Frontline Church in Grand Rapids to help finish up setup for the BoxHeads LAN the next day, but they were basically done already. So I hung out there with the BH guys that were still there, finalized setup, and tested out the network. D.O.A. let me hop on his computer, and Iceboy and myself proceded to have a "Sniper War" in Battlefield 2. Just the 2 of us, at opposite ends of the map, trying to plink each other with the Sniper rifle. To cap the night off, about 9 of us went out to Damon's. Was fun. Saturday I spent some time with the wife and kids, then they had to go, so I went to the LAN for a little while. I didn't bring my computer this time since I was going to be there for about 4-5 hours. But I had a fun time anyhow. One of the guys, Pengin (no, not Penguin), had made a good bit of discs for me before the LAN, so I picked those up. I got: GTR (from the same developer as GT Legends in prev post, but with modern cars), rFactor, Live for Speed, and F1 Challenge. All good racing games. Been playing those, pretty challenging to drive them well.
Also at the LAN, one guy had his power supply blow, and it took the 2 next to him out as well, so all 3 computers had smoke billowing out the backs of them. Kinna neat actually. And since there were Power Supplies for prizes, some were re-allocated to those that blew up.
After LAN clean-up concluded, about 8 (basically the same that went to Damons) of us traveled to Perkins to find them closed. It was midnight after all. So we went to IHOP.
Then there was Sunday, which started off the work week again. *sigh*
Next weekend, pending it doesn't rain, I'll be taking the wife to Berlin Raceway for Championship Night, the last night of racing at the local short track. Already have (free) tickets, too.
So there is that to look forward to.
But in the meantime, work.
Till next time, have fun, be good.

Legendary!
Er, something like that. I was browsing Blackhole Motorsports when I noticed that the Demo for the game GT Legends was out. I had first seen some screenshots a few months back, and have been awaiting it release date of " sometime before Christmas." Sure, I like my first person shooter games and such, but if there is one thing am besides a Computer Geek it's a Car Geek.
Here are a couple screen shots:
A 1966 Mustang GT-350

And a 1977 Porsche 911

Looks quite good to me, I can hardly wait. Battlefield 2 couldn't quite break my addiction to FlatOut, maybe this will. Not that I'm complaining, FlatOut is just really fun.

Lest we forget...
September 11 has come again, that dark anniversary in American history. I, and likely most of you, can still remember quite clearly the images and TV footage of that morning. Of course, those events launched the "War on Terror". And of course, there are those who oppose the war, the ones who want us out of Iraq unconditionally. I am not one of those people. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for peace, but if diplomacy fails...

So... Whats up?
Besides those damn gas prices, that is. They blame the hurricane, and I suppose that's possible those couple oil platforms in the Gulf could affect price that much. But iunno... It was $3.48 a gallon up in Cedar Springs this morning.
I guess it could be worse... that's down in Georgia.

Anyhow
Went to the Realms of Chaos LAN last weekend. To avoid driving from work to home only to turn around and go back past work again, I just went there early. I helped set up and everything, which is kinna sorta fun, to me. I had an absolute blast there. I played Battlefield 2, and learned that I hadn't been playing it enough. I could hold my own on some maps, but others...wow. Also got in Flatout and Need For Speed Underground 2, and I did relatively well in those games. I also engaged in a good deal of socializing too, as I usually do.
I have pictures to post, and likely will in a couple days. The ones from the GRLan too.
And that's about all I've been up to.
That and not sleeping all that well, even though the weather is turning somewhat cooler at night, more toward where I like it for sleeping.
Well, I do believe that's all I can think to write at the moment.
