Whole lotta nothin

Thats what I have for this update. Actually, things have been going on. Not long after I wrote my last update, my telephone service to the house was shut off. And since I was to be moving not long after, I never had it turned back on. And last weekend, I did move to a new place. Nothing special, but its a place to stay until I can do better. Where I am at now is a place called the Blue Chalet in Sand Lake. I'm renting a room in it that equals out to a really small studio apartment. But really, its a bedroom. But hey, the bed is comfy, and I wedged my computer in there, so thas good. Maybe I'll take pictures and post them. Iunno. But there is no individual phone lines for each room, so I am still without internet at home. On that note, Maybe i can get some games finished finally. Like Half Life 2 (yes its still not done), DooM3 (also still not finished yet), and even Call of Duty:United Offensive (not even installed yet). Have been playing alot of Battlefield 2 and Need For Speed: Underground 2. And with the 6800GT in there, those games look gooood.

There are 2 LAN parties coming up that I intend to attend. There was a Boxheads event recently that I was not unable to attend in full capacity due to work. I did stop in there for a while, sans computer, to talk to the people tho, so that was good atleast. Coming up there is a GRLan on the 13th of August, and a Realms of Chaos on the 26th-27th, also of August. So I'm looking forward to those, and getting in some BF2 action against people instead of bots.

Well, I think thas all I got for now...

No news...

Makes for a boring update, but here goes.

I get the feeling that the whole moving to LA thing just isn't going to happen. I have heard virtually nothing since putting my counter offer on the table. Sure, I could have accepted thier offer as it stood, but if I just wanted to scrape by, I can do that here without having to move across the country. It isn't like I told them to double the amount or anything, in fact it was thier idea for me to call the former store manager and see what he thought of what they were offering me. So I did, and he told me that I would have a hard time making ends meet in LA with that kind of money.

I should also clarify that I wasn't going to move cross country just for more money. It was the hope of a better job. It would be a store just like where I am now, just still owned and run by the previous company. And I would be the actual Technical Manager, not just the "Assistant" as I am here. I say "assistant" becuase there is no one to assist. My friend Rich, who was the Tech Mgr, did the same thing I was looking at doing, left this present company, went back to the old company. That's where I got the idea, I wanted to do what he does. Go and setup / tear down stores, like I did in Iowa last summer. Is much fun. Anyhow. I would have been (could still be?) the Tech Mgr at the Los Angeles location, and I would also do new site builds and tear downs.

And if it turned out that for some reason I didn't like doing builds anymore, Jet Propulsion Labs is right there in Pasadena too. Now *that* would be a sweet place to work.

Oh, and I also added a link to BAMLAN in the LAN column.
That's going to be about it for now. If I every do anything, maybe I'll put it here. Iunno.
