Jedi don't have nightmare's...

...they have visions. And so did I. Hehe, yeah. I just recently had a chance to watch Star Wars Episode III *finally*, and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It did basiclly what it needed to in filling in the blanks between Ep II and Ep IV. As for this "vision" I had, I give you this clipping from my Jan 5 2004 entry:
"On the subject of movies, i had a startlingly clear image of the ending of Star Wars ep III. For some reason I see the last scene to be Obi-Wan dropping off Luke to "uncle Owen" and "Aunt Veru" then fading out to credits. Im writing this here mainly as a reminder to myself that I thought that. What I saw was Obi-Wan fly to Tattooine, walk from his ship into the Lars' house carrying a small child....
It was just as clear as if I was watching it."

Spooky, huh :p

There really isn't much of anything new to report here, though. With the new wheel bearing installed, the Jetta rides smooth again. And quieter too. However, with the price of gas these days, we need to re-develop an internal combustion engine that can run on water. Think I'm crazy? I bet you do. Have a look here. I have also watched a scientific video on this as well from many years back. Neat stuff, once they figure out the technology to make it viable for street use.
Ok, that's all for now...

Greasy!

Yeah, I was a tad greasy yesterday. I had to replace the Left Rear wheel bearing on my Jetta. It was rumbling and vibrating and all that good stuff. And when replacing the bearings, you of course need to pack them with grease before you install them. But it's worth it, the car rolls smoother, doesn't make a grinding noise anymore either. Other thatn that, I've done little besides go to work, and then home.

Been spending some time over at my wife's place with her and the kids, too. We're trying to figure things out. Are they moving out there with me? Are they not? Am I even moving out there? 4 quakes on the coast over the past week... (maybe thats symbolic since Quake 4 is coming out soon...)

There is a Boxheads LAN coming up July 15, but given that I'm not sure where I'm going to be, I haven't signed up. So if I am still here, I'll go and be a visitor and take some pictures. Unless a spot magically appears open. Registration is about full with a little less than a month to go.

I wish life was easier... but that's just life I guess

D-Day +1

June 6, 1944:
D-Day, turning the tide of World War II in Europe. I was obviously not there, thankfully. But I have great respect for those that were, as well as all the men and women in the Armed Forces, past and present, who represent the US with honor. It may or may not come as a suprise to know that I am a millitary history nut. Especially WWII. Emily got me a couple of good books for Christmas, a day by day account of D-Day; and also a battle by battle book of the entirety of WWII. Both are quite the wealth of information, including some of the tactics used, and the weaponry they fought with.

That is all for now.

P.S. It hit 93 degrees yesterday. And those Thunderstorms did drop a Tornado or 2. One was maybe 20-30 miles at most from my house. However, I was still at work at the time.
Ok, now that is really all. That, and its 2:45 AM.

One more thing...

I was just checking through my old posts, and found the OS quiz I took a while ago. I got Apple DOS then, so I figured I'd see if I improved any.

You are Slackware Linux. You are the brightest among your peers, but are often mistaken as insane. Your elegant solutions to problems often take a little longer, but require much less effort to complete.
Which OS are You?

It seems this is better. But yeah, the people that mistake me for insane are right :-P
Ok, now its sleep time.

Kick my ass

Nope, not an invitation. Just happens to be the song on Winamp right now. Sorry.

Well, as muich as I didn't want to, I went back to Windows XP Professional a week or so ago. XP64 was really nice and I could have worked through or around most of the difficulties with it. Except one. It wouldn't activate. So after 30 days, no mo XP64. However, since I'm back on regular XP, my digital camera plays nice again, so the pictures I took at RoC are up Here.

Not much to write about. Work, home, sleep. Wake up and repeat as necessary. God willing I'll have something to report on that soon.
Ooh, later today we are supposed to have some good Thunderstorms! Unfortunatly they might be too good, these same storms dropped some Tornadoes in the states to the West. Des Moines, IA, where I was last summer for a few weeks, looks like it got hammered! I don't know of twisters there, but the radar showed the whole area covered in orange and red. Had a storm like that when I was there then too. Rained a river sideways from the sky, and the lightning was akin to a strobe light. Was freaky, and yet I was loving it too.

Well, I should really be asleep by now. So I guess that's where I'll go. Have fun, be good y'all.
