Yup

Well, it's Easter again. As most of my family is vacationing, I really don't have any plans for the day. However, I have done pretty much all my laundry, the dishes, and vacuumed. I also finally uploaded the pictures I took of my Jetta. They can be found here. Not really much else to do except maybe try to figure out what is causing my computer to not see or be able to be seen by my home network.
Again.
*rant*
My other 2 computers have no problem with this. This one though, has had this problem before, at last falls Synergy LAN, and a couple other LANs. The previous solution had been to re-install Windows. And that works. For a while, and then it does this again. I would really like to find out why. I set up both my other computers the same basic way, and they don't do this. So what makes this computer so special? It has had this problem on both WinXP and Win2003 now. My Athlon XP1600 runs XP Pro with SP2, and my Celeron 1100 runs 2003, the same as this, my Athlon64 3000. Is it this motherboard? Or maybe the built in network card? Or just that it happens to be my LAN computer so it doesn't want to work right. The XP1600 has been to LANs as well and worked flawlessly. So what gives?

Oops, sorry 'bout that.

But for now, I'm out. Thought I'd more to say, but I was wrong.

American Idiot

Get it? Hehe, it's the newest album by Green Day. And since today is St. Patricks day, Green Day fits. Yeah. I know I am wierd.
I'm updating for the sake of updating. Maybe to see if I can't do this more regularly. Can't say as anything real interesting or newsworthy has happened since last update, but hey, thas life.

Lessee... what else...

The computer is functioning well on Windows 2003, and the big hard drive is still working well. So that is good. Still working through Half Life 2. I dont play it that often, or for too long when I do. I'm almost back to where i was before the reformat. I still have fun playing Need for Speed: Underground 2. Though I don't really build my cars in the spirit of the game. you're "supposed" to build your cars up with "pimp style" but I refuse. Well, I did have to in order to complete the game, but as soon as I finished the game, that car was history. I build them to look good, the way I want them. Yeah, I still dress them up with ground effects and spoilers and nice rims, but I don't make them look stupid. Such as, I dont install any trunk audio, hydraulics, underbody neons, and NO SPINNER RIMS. Hate the spinner rims.

These are 2 examples of my cars. The Eclipse is an example of a nice, slick car. The GTO is an example of one of my 'stealth' cars.
Yeah, anyhow. That probably put anyone who reads this page to sleep.
On that note, I'm out. Not that anyone would notice... hehe.

The Big One

That's the term that Racers use to describe a big, multi-car accident on the track. This morning on my way to work, I found The Big One, or rather, it found me.
The morning trip started out normal, it was a bright, sunny drive down US-131 South. However, just past the Rockford exit, out of nowhere it's blowing snow and I can barely see in fornt of me. I could see people slowing down. Then I see a WHOLE BUNCH of cars stopping. I got mostly stopped when a Ford Focus (that was already missing its left front wheel assembly) hit me from behind and kind of pushed me into Dodge Neon. (Don't worry, I was not hurt, nor is my car for the most part). I was about to step out and survey the damage, and I noticed a semi-truck coming at me sideways. So I got back in the car and moved ahead like 50 feet. I was there for about 10-15 minutes making sure people were alright, and everyone that I talked to was fine. Not so on Northbound, but I had to get to work, so since I was ok and my car was too, I just got the heck outta there. I'd have liked to stay to help out and all that, but I was the only opener today, so I had to get to work. But man, cars all over the place. The local news sites say 1 confirmed dead, and multiple other injuries. Here are a couple links to local sites covering this: WOOD TV8 and WZZM 13
I just thank God I was able to drive away all in one piece. My prayers are with the poeple involved, that there is only the 1 fatality.

Vanishing Lessons

Yeah, thats just the song playing on the computer at the moment. Don't nobody read too much into that. Yeah, been a while since i updated. Again. Reason being is there just hasn't been much to write about. As a follow up to my last post, I have got my 200 Gig hard drive to function again. Finally got it to do a low-level format. So i have been able to re-install some games finally and have them actually work. Which is good. Had to start from the begining of Half-Life 2 again though. Will have to in DooM3 too. But atleast I had my custom cars and profile for Need For Speed: Underground 2 backed up. Yay! Now to re-install the Battlefield series of games before the next LAN so I can practice.
Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition seems to be working out nicely. Some of the back-ups wont copy back though. Some of my pics say they are corrupted, as are a chunk of my MP3's. I think I have a redundant back-up somewhere... I will have to take new pics of my Jetta though, no back ups of that. Someday...

It was almost 50 today. I drove home with the sunroof open. Except on the freeway. Even 50 degree air is cold at 80-90 MPh. Usually closer to 80... but...

Well, I'm out for now. Will write more....sometime.
