Frustration Rising....

So, the other night, I rebooted my computer, and my D drive decided it wanted to "unformat" itself. Or something that. At any rate, Windows XP thought it wasn't formatted anymore. Add to it that my file recovery program couldnt find anything on the drive. Which wasnt a HUGE deal, since it was mostly games. I can re-install games. But there were some odds and ends not backed up. Mostly movies, but I thought I lost all my bookmarks from Firefox, but apparently it was stored somewhere in the cache on the C drive too. So thats a "plus" I guess.
One thing the catastrophe did do was remove my last hesitation to install Windows 2003. I was hesitant because I had everything the way I wanted it, and didnt want to have to re-install everything, but since I lost everything, I need to re-install it anyhow. So I now am running Win 2003 Enterprise edition. For now. I say for now because I may have to format C again to remove a virus that I presume snuck in whilst I was trying to update my Symantec Antivirus program. I get the "System Shutdown: your computer will reboot in X number of seconds" box that pops up. Kind of like the MSBlast, but its not the MSBlast. Even updated, the virus scanner couldnt find anything. I pinpointed it down to a specific service in the task manager. The service isnt the virus, but when that service is terminated, the System Shutdown box comes up. So, I watched the Task Manager and a service popped in and killed the one service I was talkin about. But it popped in and out so quick I couldnt see what it was. I thought it was the rpcss.dll file, so I booted to safe mode, renamed it, rebooted, deleted it. Then Windows wouldnt load totally anymore. But another of my computers, the Celeron 1.1 GHz, runs 2003 too. So I could just copy it from there. Except my main computer couldnt access the network in its current state. And the Celeron didnt have a floppy drive, but my networkable Athlon XP 1600 does. So I had to utilize all 3 computers to fix the one. It was like having my own tiny LAN in the living room. As it turns out, that rpcss.dll wasnt the issue. So hopefully I can figure it out sometime.
/end rant

I mentioned possibly taking pictures of my car, and I did. And they were backed up. So once I figure this all out, they will be posted. I may or may not take more pics of stuff just because. I have the camera, but I dont use it quite enough.

HOLY SMOKE! just had a really loud thunder clap over here.
anyhow.

Well, I go. Daytona 500 bout to start. Have fun y'all.
