Zoom

Yeah, So I like driving my newer car. It marks the first foreign car I've owned or driven. It handles well, stops good, and given the persuasion, goes pretty well too. The Jetta has a nicer ride than did my van, albeit with considerably less room. Even with the seat all the way back from the wheel, my head still touches the roof. And since its a 1988, it has a 3-speed automatic, and not a 4-speed Automatic with Overdrive. So on the highway, the motor spins at about 4000 RPMs instead of 2500. Despite this, I still manage about 26 miles per gallon. Imagine if it had Overdrive... Contrast this to the Thundervan that in the summer managed to eek out 20 mpg. More like 16-18 in the cold. Ooh ooh, and the Jetta has a sunroof too! In the time I had between geting out of work and going bowling, I took it over to a spray n wash to get it cleaned off. When I get home today, I will probably take some pics. Its all nice 'n' shiny now. For now.

Other than all that, I haven't been up to much besides work. I did take my kids down to the Michigan International Autoshow last Sat. That was cool. Lotsa neat cars. The kids went nuts over the engines. Im sure I'll post the pics sometime.

Well, I'm out for now.
Have fun y'all.

Rollin'

This past weekend was pretty good on a few accounts.
Friday, after I got out of work I picked up my new-to-me car, a 1988 Volkswagen Jetta GL 4 door. It may be older than my van by 7 years, but it has 90,000 less miles on it. It's in better shape too. I'll take pics soon.
Saturday was the LAN, which being a GRLAN, was good as usual. Fun was had, games were played, and files were acquired.Pics are up here. Sunday I had work and then Bowling.
