The saga continues...

Well, I have heat and hot water now, or atleast I will once the POWER COMES BACK ON! I woke up early this morning to take a shower with the newfound warm water, only to discover I have no electricity. A quick call to my electric co.'s outage line informs me that the Pierson electrical sub-station is down, taking down 4 townships, including mine. Without electricity = no: electricity (duh!), heat, water, computer(now thats serious!), internet, lights. But I can still use the phone. With any luck power will be on when I get home. I hope. I just had a couple water pipes replaced yesterday since the cold water under the sink cracked and the main feed to the water heater broke too. Got out of it for $160, which is pretty good, could easily have been $4-500.

I'm going to attempt to do my Christmas shopping tonight. Yes, I haven't done it yet. But I wil tonight, along with probably a million other fools like me. Atleast I know what I'm getting people. Mostly. Hopefully I can get that done in a short period of time so I can go home and just relax.

Well, Im going to go now, ok?

Brrrr

Dang it's chilly!
Thankfully I should, that is, SHOULD be getting my propane tank filled tomorrow. God willing that means I'll be able to fire up my furnace and hot water heater. I had been attempting to save up some loot for a new vehicular, but when I came back this past weekend and the water in my toilets was frozen over(not solid, but about 1/2" of ice), that was the last straw. Not that I liked living in the cold, but I had been saving up to pre-empt the failure of the Thundervan by getting something smaller, more fuel efficient, and better in snow. Oh, and something that doesn't threaten to fall apart either.

I'm out for now, but I'll write if anything interesting happens.

December 7, 1941

A date which will live in infamy.
Yesterday marked the 63rd anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, initiating our involvement into World War II. Japan's quest for world domination didn't turn out so well. I can't see how they expected it to work, but I suppose you can't fault them for trying. We got their attention when we bombed Tokyo by suprise with B-25 Mitchell's launched from aircraft carriers. A daring move since the B-25 is too big for a carrier, but it kind of worked. What really worked was the 2 B-29's that flew over Japan. The ones that dropped the 2 Atomic bombs that obliterated Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The attack on Pearl was the major reason I was so against ever owning a Japanese car. Yet I like German cars, and the Nazi's did some of the worst things imaginable in WWII. That and I didnt like losing automotive jobs to Japan. Now, though, most overseas car companies have factories in the US. Profits still go overseas, but they employ Americans. So that is a good thing. That is why in recent years I have been willing to buy import cars, if I like them. And if I can't find an Amercian car I like.

I really need to get the heating situation figured out. Liquid Ice shower, anyone? I am not real fond of them, but damn do they wake you up!

It's been unseasonably "warm" the past few days, and rainy too. It may be December, but I'll take rain over snow anytime. Now all we need is a Thunderstorm. Thundersnow is neat too, but kinda freaky.

Also, Psychorage's death announcement may have been a bit premature. There is now 1 lone forum section open for posting in. So, until it becomes a tad uncivilized again, that is availble.

That is all.
