Still Here

Just finished configuring the internet connection here at the store in Iowa, so, ya know, gotta test it.

Things are going well out here, busy but well.
First day: got acquainted with the location.
Day 2: make room in the store for stuff
Day 3: unloaded 2 semi trailers full of the simulators and thier stuff. (note, this was also the hottest day yet. 90's)
Next week and a half: assemble the parts and pieces into 8 NASCAR simulators.
Now its just fine tuning and tweaking.
No 18 hour days yet like I thought, but all have been atleast 12 hours. 15 yesterday.
I also could probably find Des Moines Intl Airport in my sleep now. picking up/dropping off various ppls.

Got to go now and do some more work.

If I leave here tomorrow...

...will you still remember me?

Alternate title: One More Day.
But I have used that before, I think.

Thought I'd post before I leave. Tomorrow I leave for Iowa for around 3 weeks. Going to be setting up a new Checker Flag Lightning store in the new Jordan Creek mall in West Des Moines, Iowa. Going to be doing some real manual labor there, should be fun. Have to set up and make full functional 8 racing simulators in 9 days.

Speaking of movies, Teusday I wathced the Matrix, then Thursday I
watched the Matrix Reloaded. Yeah, for the first time. Still havent
made it through a LOTR movie yet.

Well all, Im out.
May not be back for a while, depending on how much web access I have on the road.
Take care, be good.

Lantastic!

Well, Saturday was a LAN Party. The Boxheads foray into the Grand Rapids area. Things went well there. I didnt fill my hard drive like I thought I might, this time I gamed alot. I played Far Cry, Battlefield Vietnam, and a new game; Joint Operations. That was probably the highlight for me. It was different, fun, and in one of the maps, I had a guy pinned down to a camp, and kept plinking him with the M82 .50Cal Sniper rifle. Paybacks though, next map he was out for me.

By this time next Sunday, I should be halfway to West Des Moines, Iowa. Going to be out there for 3 weeks setting up a new location for my company. Will be long hours, but should be good work.
Well, Im out for now, may write more later...

Insert Creative Title here...

...since apparently my imagination isnt working so well right now.

Sometimes I find it amazing how much hard drive space I can eat up. When I had a 5 gigger, I thought I was set. Nope, outgrew it, quick. 20G? Nope, too small. For an only drive anyhow. The 60? Filled it. This 20 C / 200 D setup I have now? Well, the 20 is still just WinXP plus Office n stuff, so its good. But this 200G, beckons me to fill it. After the Arena War Lan I had only 45-50 G free. After some burning, deleting, and general housekeeping on the drive, Im back to 100G free. But there is a LAN Saturday. So who knows how much will be left after that. But that also means I have about 100Gigs of stuff I deem as "necessary" on this drive. Half of which are movies. However, some of the games I have are huge too. Far Cry is over 3GB, Battlefield 1942 and all the mods for it come to over 9GB, and Unreal Tournament 2004, as of yet unistalled, totals 6 cd's. I can remember back in the day when games came on 1 1.2MB, 5.25" Floppy Disk.
I didnt mean to rant on about hard drives, but as I was doing laundry today, I was re-organizing my drives. Getting rid of stuff that was un-used or un-usable. In the process, I wanted to see where all my HD space was going. My "prgram files" folder on the 200 is 20G itself, then there's the MP3 folder, thats 7.1G. Along with some more games it all adds up to ~100 GigaBytes.

Yeah, anyhow...

As previously mentioned, there is a LAN Saturday. And I have the DAY OFF!. So, Yay! And this time its in Grand Rapids, so I dont have to travel, but almost everyone else does! Fun will be had, games played, files transfered, pictures taken. Hopefully clear ones.

Well, Im out for now.
